About Us

HERMEQ Steel began life as a steel stockholding and shearing company based in the West Midlands. This background and experience gives us invaluable knowledge in purchasing and working with steel. To compliment this we’ve invested in Steel Processing facilities and developed a successful Manufacturing, Delivery and Temporary Fencing division. Together these divisions allow us to take total control of our supply chain, ensuring quality control, and give us the purchasing power to make us extremely competitive on price.

Who are we?

HERMEQ Steel (formerly HTC) was formed in 1988 as a steel stockholder operating out of Wednesbury, in the heart of the West Midlands.

In 1998 we began manufacturing temporary steel hoarding systems, which became an instant success.

In 2003 we purchased a purpose built 50,000 sq ft factory in Smethwick. With the Sales, Development and Production processes now under one roof and with space for further expansion, the company embarked on a comprehensive investment program.

Now in 2023/24 we’re opening our new Aston Place site which gives us access to over 60,000 sq ft of new, solar powered steel stock holding & manufacturing space!

Products & Manufacturing

Investment in research and product development led to us becoming the first manufacturer of pre-galvanised steel pedestrian barriers. By overhauling the old style pedestrian barrier we increased the durability and desirability of this product, which now lies at the heart of our temporary fencing product range and is a core product for the construction and event industries.

Strong foundations

Continuing to build on our legacy, HERMEQ Steel goes from strength to strength. Adding de-coiling, auto-shearing and narrow slitting services to the steel stockholding and processing division in recent years. The Manufacturing division has also continued to expand its temporary fencing product range. Most recently we’ve introduced a new “no sharps” range of mesh temporary fencing products that focus on improving the safety of mesh perimeter fencing at no additional cost.

Centrally located, we now operate out of three sites and is supported by its own fleet of HERMEQ Haulage delivery vehicles allows us to provide a nationwide service, one dedicated to deliver quality products on time.
